The
Disciple Low has been hailed as the highest quality,
best performance martial arts
shoe on the market
for good reason. Every aspect of the shoe has
been designed
to enhance
the abilities of the artist as well as
protect and provide the utmost
in comfort.
Our two-color
outsole is made of non-marking
(that’s
right, it won’t leave marks on your
floors),
durable
rubber and has been given a light
“sandpaper
like” finish
to grip all surfaces.
Our
oblong pivot point allows
for smooth pivoting
with
just enough, but not
too much, grip
to keep our knees
safe. We
wrap the rubber up over
the front of the toe
area, as
well
as our heel area, so
our bottoms do
not peel off.
There seems to be a white "wave
like" piece that runs along the outside of our shoes.
This is not just some cosmetic design. It is what separates
us from all the other companies who "claim" to
build shoes for martial artists. It is our midsole. Our
midsole is
revolutionary for martial arts footwear. We are the only
company that offers a molded wedge
made of a lightweight durable cushioning material that cushions under your heel
then wraps up over the outside of your foot.
Q: Where is
the pressure on your foot when you go into a horse stance?
A: The lateral or outside part of your foot. How about
a kick? When you land wouldn't it be nice if there was
some lateral support to help you keep your balance? Now
there is.
Our pre-broken in, soft
leather upper offers immediate comfort right out
of the box and the mesh side panels allow your feet to
breath and keeps them dry during your most serious workouts.
Even the laces we use are a made of a filament that flattens
out on impact so you can work a heavy bag and never get
lace bite. We have also cut out a small
notch in our heel tab that will allow your achilles tendon to flex
without rubbing during your kicks.
Last but not least is our pre-molded,
anatomical
sockliner. Until now, all the other martial
arts footwear companies have taken arch support about as
serious as a Lee Majors film festival. They line the inside
of their shoes like they were lining a bird cage, they
slap in a flat piece of cloth material, glue it down, and
off you go to enjoy years of arch and foot pain. We use
a very supportive molded rubber insole that not only provides
great arch support, but offers an additional
layer of cushioning as well. Our therapist calls all this anal, we call it
thorough.
When you spar it is always beneficial
if you can watch your opponent first to try and spot any
weakness that you can exploit. We took the same approach
with our shoes. Before we designed the Disciple Low we
asked hundreds of martial artists how they would improve
their shoes.
We believe the results speak for
themselves.
